final UFC 101 predictions

MAIN CARD~

~B.J. Penn over Ken Flo via TKO ref stoppage R4 (Penn's BJJ will overwhelm ken flo)
~Anderson Silva over Forrest Griffin via split decision (standup war-fight of night)
~Kendall Grove over Ricardo Almeida via KO R2 (Grove's reach to long.high kick to head)
~Amir Sadollah over Johny Hendrix via Sub R3 (Amir will eventually catch an arm after being dominated by the champion oklahoma state wrestler the whole fight)
~Thales Leites over Alessio Sakara via Sub R1 (Leites dominates and chokes the italian, sub of night)
PRELIMS~
~George Sotiropoulos over George Roop vis Sub R1 (George takes Roops back and taps him out)
~Matt Riddle over Dan Cramer via KO R2 (Riddle's strength will be too much for Cramer, ground and pound)
~Tamden McCrory over John Howard via decision (i see a ground fight with the barn-cat being more technical)
~Aaron Riley over Shane Nelson via decision (stand-up battle with the veteran taking the final two rounds after Nelson wins the first.)
~Daniel Villefort over Jesse Lennox via sub R2 (the Nogeira student will use his ground skills to tri-angle choke Lennox)

~overall it will be entertaining UFC with many finishes, Four Submissions and Three Knockouts with only three of the matches ending in decisions. I may be too optimistic but I don't see any of the fights being boring. I also really hope that there is a upset in either of the main events.

FEDOR NOT SIGNED, TITO ORTIZ IS

Today Dana White announced officially that Tito Ortiz is back in UFC. To most fans of the sport the announcement was a letdown because Fedor will not be in UFC. Dana said he offered Fedor a deal that would never be equaled in MMA. The deal breaker was that M-1 wanted to co-promote. here is a great video of previous Dana Fedor negotiations

~
A reporter from fanhouse.com Ariel Helwanne called in from M-1 press confrence. Only news is Fedor is headlining the EAsports mma game as well as mousasi and babalu. He then talked about the reality of a deal between fedor and ufc will mostly likely not happen because of Fedor's russian business entourage. I believe the deal is gonna go down because if it wasnt then M-1 would surely have fedor fight end of aug at their event in los angelas.

ANOTHER STRIKEFORCE CHAMPIONSHIP IN JEOPARDY

July 27th 2009

In a interview with mmajunkie.com radio STRIKEFORCE lightweight champion Josh "the punk" Thomson admitted that his broken leg has not yet completely healed leading to a him to likely withdrawal from his fight against Gilbert Melendez. MMA junkie is also reporting that Renato "Babalu" Sobral with defend his STRIKEFORCE title vs Gegard Mousasi.... Personally i am planning on attending this event so im happy to hear that Sobral vs Mousasi is added to the card because after the news that Overeem vs Werdum was off it was dissappointing. It is also sad that the Battle of the Bay (Thomson/Melendez) is in jeopardy. As long as they find a suitable fill-in for Thomson the event should still be more than worthy.
